Grades are generally based on midterm and final exams, attendance, reports, presentations, and other coursework. In principle, all courses are graded on a relative evaluation system.
For General Education courses, grades of A+ and A0 are given only to the top 30% of students in the class. Grades of B+ and B0 are given to students within the top 75%, excluding those who received A+ or A0.
For major courses, grades of A+ and A0 are given to the top 40% of students enrolled in the class. Language courses, laboratory courses, and small classes with nine or fewer students are graded on an absolute scale.
